Luxtone Media produced a video for online marketing of an unusual workout center called CityWide SuperSlow. Jim Colao worked closely with the two CWSS managers on shot ideas and co-wrote much of the script for the Voice Over as well as directing the audio production, and scoring the background music.
Four CWSS members were recorded during actual workouts which required quick changes of camera angle to highlight the unique aspects of the equipment and how it is used for maximum results. There were no do over shots.
The client gave significant creative freedom to the post-production phase because they had confidence in the ideas that were suggested in the earlier conceptualization phase. This also helped them meet their deadline for publication just after the holidays.
CORPORATE BRANDING
Chicago law firm Novack and Macey LLP hired Luxtone Media to create a pilot for a series of branded web videos that offer helpful tips on saving time and money in litigation cases. As a pilot, the budget was tight, and shooting had to take place in the Firm's offices during business hours.
Considerable post-production and some stop-motion animation helped boost the dynamics of the monologue. Several insert shots emphasize the author's main talking points. Simple b/w storyboards helped the client pre-visualize the final product.
MUSIC VIDEO POST-PRODUCTION FX
The artist created an edit based on his favorite segments, and let Jim Colao do all the post-production FX including working with the green screen shots, and multiple on-car camera shots. Virtually all the post FX involve 3-5 layers that heighten the interactions between foreground, background and middle ground action. Colao also added slow digital zooms in and out on many shots to keep the flow of movement going between energetic parts. Colao added related stock footage tailored to the artist's edit, meaning any shot that doesn't feature the artist or the female singer is Colao's B-roll.
INSTRUCTIONAL WEB VIDEO PROMO
Single camera shoots with post FX for a yoga instructor's unconventional web promotion. Client wanted to present a vibe suggesting a spiritual bond between body and soul, along with introducing potential customers to a variety of short instructional clips.
